Much like in the original arcade game, in time Pilot Chronos you control a fighter plane traveling trough time, there’s enemies, pickups and bosses. We tried to stay faithful to the original while adding some modern features like strafing and power-ups.
Time Pilot Chronos was in made in Unity, I worked on this project along with two other programmers, three artists, a designer and a producer. This was a nine week assignment for NHTV Breda.
I had no previous Unity experience before starting this project so most of my tasks involved a degree of learning how to work with an engine for the first time, these tasks included:
- UI behaviors
- Simple animations
- Editor values for assigning spawns or particles
- Graphics programming, making shaders for the outlines and materials
- Small general tasks like keeping track of score
